Samanvaya Vision

Samanvaya, meaning ‘integration’, envisions a programme for contextual theological formation, integrating learning with life and personal development in view of the community’s mission. It is a CMI venture to prepare religious and spiritual leaders as ordained ministers at the service of the Church, responding to the thrusts and priorities of today’s world, especially in the social, religious and economic context of India. The theological vision evolved in Samanvaya must correspond to Indian life in all its dimensions: social, economic, political, religious and cultural. It is a critical and creative response to given contexts of life from the standpoint of Jesus, echoing his liberating call

Samanvaya Vision

Integration of a variety of experiences through action and reflection, learning and doing theology is possible only if theological formation becomes dynamic and moving. Theological formation in Samanvaya takes place, keeping in mind the importance of contexts, especially the three major different local contexts of India: rural and tribal context inter-religious context, and pastoral and social context. It also takes into consideration the changing context of both the contemporary India as well as the changing global context.  This vision has been evolved through an earnest search for a new form of priestly and missionary formation suited to the changing socio-economic and religio-cultural scenario of the world, especially of North India.

Samanvaya Objective

The objective of Samanvaya Theology College is to enable the students to be challenged by the above mentioned socio-economic and religio-cultural contexts of India and the world by means of insertion and experience, and through guided and sound theological reflections in the light of the Word of God, prepare themselves for their future priestly ministry and missionary life in any given context.
