RESEARCH PAPER

Every student is required to write a Research Paper according to the demands of scientific methodology prescribed by the faculty.

  1. The student chooses the topic of the Research Paper in consultation with a guide of his choice. The topic, along with the name of the guide is submitted for the approval of the Director before commencing the work
  2. The student submits the schema that is approved and signed by the guide, to the Director at the stipulated time

The Research Paper should be the fruit of reflection and academic research. It must be characterised by theological thinking, research methodology and systematic presentation. The length of the Research Paper should be about 40-70 pages. A4 size paper should be used as you print the Research Paper for submission. The text of the Research Paper should be typed in Book Antiqua (font), 11.5 pt (size) with 1.5 line spacing except in the case where quotations are given in indent with standard margins

At the completion of the Research Paper at the end of the sixth semester, on the date stipulated, one bound copy of it, printed on both the sides of the page, is to be handed over to the office of the Director along with a one-page summary of the work in not more than 190 words. The student is required to present a summary of the Research Paper in 20-30 minutes before the staff and students. 50% of the marks for the Research Paper shall be given by the guide, 30% by an external reader and 20% by the staff members who moderate the presentation. 

For a Research Paper to be accepted, it should meet the following requirements:

  1. Approval of the guide
  2. Final approval of the Academic Council made on the basis of the stipulated criteria

A possible rejection of the Research Paper can be made either absolutely or with recommendations for improvement within a stipulated time.
